UPD ROTC Month 2024: A Month-long Empowerment of Tomorrow’s Leaders / A Month-long Celebration of Excellence The echoes of Duty, Honor, and Country once again resonated through the halls of the (DMST) Complex as the UP Diliman Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (UPD ROTC) officially commenced its Military Science 2 (MS2) course on 17 February 2024. From Chants to Cheers: The Commencement of UPD ROTC Mil Sci 2 C.Y. 2023-2024 / Kicking Off ROTC Mil Sci 2 Course C.Y. 2023-2024 Throughout the semester, the UP Diliman ROTC MS1 program equipped cadets with a diverse array of knowledge and skills essential for their development as future reservists. From delving into Military Customs and Traditions to understanding the intricacies of Cybersecurity, each topic served to instill in them a deeper understanding of their roles as cadets and Filipino citizens. UPD ROTC MS1 Culminates with Empowerment and Spirit of Duty, Honor, and Country Courage Runs in Our Veins” blood drive on 11 December 2023, led by UP Diliman (DMST) in partnership with NSTP Diliman Office, wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering support of the UPVI Makati Chapter, UP Vanguard Fraternity, UPCAO, the Serving Hearts Foundation, the Philippine General Hospital, the National Children’s Hospital, and the Philippine Heart Center. Courage Runs in Our Veins The University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD) Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) Unit together with the 7th Civil-Military Operations Gwapo” Battalion of the Armed Forces of the Philippines successfully led the conduct of a major donation drive dubbed as Aguinaldo Sa Aguilar" on 07 December 2023. Aguinaldo sa Aguilar UPD ROTC’s commitment to community engagement embodies their deep patriotism, honoring the heroes who laid the foundation of the nation. The UPD ROTC Unit participated in a meaningful tribute at the Monumento sa mga Bayani ng 1896 on 27 November 2023, in cooperation with the Katipunan ng Mga Anak ng Bayang Pilipinas and the Rainbow Rangers Alumni Association Incorporated commemorating this year’s 160th Bonifacio Day. Marching Forward: In Commemoration of the 160th Bonifacio Day The UPD ROTC, in its ongoing commitment to service and community engagement, equipped students of the UP National Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (NIMBB) and National Institute of Geological Sciences (NIGS) Community CWTS class with the essential skill of Basic Life Saving through an instructive lecture held at the NIMBB Auditorium on 13 November 2023. Building Skills, Saving Lives: UPD ROTC’s Basic Life Saving Lecture for CWTS Students Beyond their dedication to community service, the UPD ROTC is renowned for its competitive spirit, earning the reputation of being the snappiest and mightiest Corps of Cadets.
